I have already posted Kali recipe which we make for Thiruvadarai festival. Kali is had along with this Kootu. Traditionally this kootu is made with odd number of vegetables and pulses i.e. 5, 7, 9 etc. This is slightly different from the normal poricha kootu and extremely tasty. I dont like the Kali-Kootu combination but I have this Kootu with rice and the Kali independently.

This is again my amma's recipe. The next day with left over kootu, my mom adds a little sesame oil in a pan and cooks the kootu till it becomes thick and she used to call it kootu kari. This tastes even superb specially with curd rice!!
