Tawa Pulao

Tawa pulao is basically left over rice and left over pav bhaji sauteed the next day. Pav bhaji tastes really nice the next day and this pulao reiterates that. This is a must-try recipe.


Prep Time: 30 mins

Cook Time: 1 hr


Ingredients

  • 2 cups Basmati rice

  • 2 Finely chopped onions

  • 1 Finely chopped capsicum

  • 2 Finely chopped tomatoes

  • salt to taste

  • 1 carrot cubed

  • 1 potato cubed

  • 1/2 cup Green peas

  • 1 tsp Chilli powder

  • 1 tbsp pav bhaji masala

  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp Oil

  • 2 tbsp Butter

  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds

Instructions

  1. Cook basmati rice with salt till grains are separate

  2. Cook the veggies and mash them, keep aside

  3. In a pan take oil and butter and splutter jeera

  4. Add turmeric and ginger garlic paste

  5. Add onions and sauté till light brown

  6. Add capsicum and sauté till soft

  7. Add tomatoes, salt and sauté till mushy

  8. Add chilli powder, pav bhaji masala and sauté till the oil oozes

  9. Add the cooked veggies and mix well mashing it to a paste

  10. Add the cooked rice and sauté them for 15 mins on low flame

  11. Serve hot with raita of your choice
