Mathura pedha

  • 1 min read

I have been wanting to make this peda, did try a recipe but it was super flop!! and that after almost an hour of stirring cooking.. this recipe was given by Drithi's in laws' family friend and turned out to be super duper.. I just love this peda and could go to any extent to make this successfully..

You can see the measurements are a bit odd, this is because I have halved the quantity given by her..

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 57 gms butter

  • 225 gms ricotta cheese

  • Little over 1/2 cup milk powder (1/2 of 3/4 cup)

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp nutmeg powder

  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. In a non stick pan add the butter and melt

  2. Once melted, add the ricotta cheese and mix it up

  3. Then add the milk powder and whisk it well to avoid lumps

  4. The add in the sugar and mix in everything well

  5. Pour this onto a wide glass bowl and microwave this mixture 3-5 mins at a time (initially 5 mins and then 3 mins at a time)

  6. Keep mixing this in between, mixing it and mashing it at the same time once this mixture becomes thick (enough to roll)

  7. Add the cardamom and nutmeg powder and mix it well

  8. Once warm to touch, take a tbsp and roll this to a small oval pedha

  9. Roll this in a powdered sugar

  10. Use this for prasad or have it as it is
