Red Velvet Mug Cake

I found this lovely recipe online and decided to try it. What impressed me about this recipe is that it is so easy and can be made in a minute and a half. You do not need any extravagant ingredients as well.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Maida

  • 1/2 tbsp Cocoa powder

  • 2 tbsp Sugar

  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder

  • a pinch salt

  • 3 tbsp Buttermilk

  • 1 and 1/2 tbsp Oil

  • 1/8 tsp Red food colour

  • 2 tbsp + for garnish, Chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large soup bowl (microwave safe) add maida, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder and whisk it well

  2. Add the buttermilk, oil and the red food colour and mix it well

  3. Add 2 tbsp of chocolate chips and mix well

  4. Garnish with a few chips and microwave it for 1 and 1/2 minutes

Notes

Variations:

  • You can drizzle chocolate syrup on top

  • You can add M&M’s for more vibrant colours, for garnish

  • To go more bold, you can add green colour to the cake instead of red!
